A Fender 5E2 Princeton reworked around two unlikely little tube, a 6J6 preamp and a 6AQ5A output. With a solid-state rectifier they push nearly the 3 watts of the original 6V6. Vintage Stancor and salvaged-radio iron, silver-mica 'domino' caps, a powder-coated chassis, and an oak cabinet dyed black with Japanese Sumi ink, spline-mitered and finished in tung oil.
A replica of the vintage Vox AC4 built almost entirely from upcycled lab equipment. The case and chassis from a Grass Instruments SD6 stimulator, parts and knobs from a W-P Instruments 302-T, and a vintage Triad power transformer. A hand-fabricated faceplate and grill, powder coated black, with a tremolo that finally behaves.
A tube amp built for a friend's restored Wurlitzer electric piano, based on the Fender Tweed Pro 5E5 with an ultra-linear output transformer and 12AU7 preamps for a cleaner sound. The black walnut cabinet was cut from a single board and joined with hand-cut dovetails, inspired by mid-century modern furniture.
An early-1950s Fender Princeton 5B2 circuit in a dovetailed cabinet made from a twenty-year-old oak board, driving a 6x9 speaker pulled from a 1970s Leslie organ. The chassis was bent from scrap sheet metal and finished in layered powder coat with vinyl-cut decals.
